Lieutenant Colonel Kerg is a prior-enlisted mortarman, communications officer, operational planner, and a fellow with the Atlantic Council's Indo-Pacific Security Initiative. He is currently the G-5 director of plans, III Marine Expeditionary Force, in Okinawa, Japan.
