Captain Van Liew is an active-duty intelligence officer. He previously served as the intelligence officer of Combat Logistics Regiment 1, CJ33 Battle Captain of Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve, and the intelligence officer of Battalion Landing Team 2/1, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit.
